Updating Sage Accounting Systems

hh2 was designed from the ground up to sync with Sage accounting, specifically Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, and Sage 100 Contractor. It is essential that when you update Sage, you prevent data from syncing over during the update.

If things are not properly updated, you will get an error message from Sage and the sync tool won’t work. (These errors are very rare—we’ve only run into these recently after end-of-the-year updates.) By performing the actions below, you can avoid any future error messages, and keep everything running smoothly.

For Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate:

• Before doing any kind of Sage update on a server, have a backup of the Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate data.
• Stop the hh2 services on the Sage server. To do this, go into “Services” on the server and look for hh2. There will be two items: hh2 Mongo and hh2 Synchronization. Stopping thehh2 Synchronization Service will automatically stop the hh2 MongoDB Service. Historical GPS reports are available on demand.
• After the hh2 Services have been stopped, run the Sage update.
• Restart the hh2 Services by going back into “Services” on the server and starting hh2 Synchronization. This will automatically restart hh2 Mongo.

Sage 100 Contractor

• Before doing any kind of Sage update on a server, have a backup of the data.
• Stop the hh2 services on the Sage server. To do this, go into “Services” on the server and look for hh2. There are two: hh2 Mongo and hh2 Synchronization. Stopping the hh2 Synchronization Service will automatically stop the hh2 MongoDB Service. After the hh2 Services have been stopped, run the update.
• After the hh2 Services have been stopped, run on the Sage 100 update on each client machine and server. (If you neglect to run the update on the Sage Server, it will error out.)
• Restart the hh2 Services by going back into “Services” on the server and starting the hh2 Synchronization Service. This will automatically start the hh2 MongoDB Service.
